Psalms - Community Bible Study - United States

Women, including high-school girls, meet in-person weekly on Thursday mornings (9:30-11:30) at the Somerset Hills Baptist Church, 510 Mt. Airy Rd., Basking Ridge, NJ 07920. We are multi-denominational from many communities. We begin with Large Group Opening Worship, then Small Core Groups meet for study questions and discussion, followed by Large Group Lecture.

A remote evening group is reserved for working women or those who cannot attend in-person. They meet via Zoom Thursday evenings (7:00-8:00) for small group discussion and then view the lecture online at their convenience.

All class members will receive a course book with a commentary and home study questions.

For the Class Year 2025-2026: Psalms

Written over centuries by different authors, the book of Psalms, also known as the Book of Praises, has served as a hymn book and prayer book from ancient times to the present. It is exclusive among the Scriptures because it is written to God, and, therefore, uniquely situated to foster communication with God. The Psalms give voice to our hearts, our longings, our fears, our desires, our doubts, our struggles, and our praises.

This study of the Psalms is organized by themes to faclitate our grasp of their main ideas so that application to our lives and situations is further enabled ... enhancing our conversations with God.
